This painting is based on a 1948 black and white studio photo by British photographer Cornel Lucas. Dietrich was staying in Britain at the time of the original photo where she was filming "No Highway In The Sky" with James Stewart.
I have changed the original rather sterile context of an airport to an English railway station at night.
