A commissioned portrait of Marlon Brando in his oscar winning performance from 1954.

Actually the black and white still on which this is based, was taken on the roof tops where his character Terry kept his doves. For the painting composition I have set him deep in the heart of the Hoboken dockyards where most of the action takes place. 1950s New York and a 20 year old Empire State Building in the background.

A recently discovered home movie reveals that the original plaid jacket really was black and red. This image is now helping the Aero clothing company to promote a beautiful reproduction of the jacket. Visit the link below for further details.
